DAY 1 – DEPART USA

Overnight flight to Madrid.

DAY 2 – ARRIVE MADRID.

You are met at Madrid Airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director and fellow travelers.

Hotel: Cuzco.

DAY 3 – MADRID – GRANADA.

We leave Madrid and visit the town of Toledo, rich in history, buildings and art. We see the Gothic Cathedral and visit the Iglesia de Santo Tome to view El Greco's masterpiece 'The Burial of the Count of Orgaz'. Then we continue to Granada, former capital of the Moorish Kingdom of Spain.

DAY 4 – GRANADA – SEVILLE.

We visit the remarkable Alhambra Palace this morning; a fantasy of stone-cut lace and arabesque gardens. We also visit the cool, green, water-gardens of the Generalife, before we continuing on to Seville. Tonight, why not enjoy dinner followed by a flamenco show?

DAY 5 – SEVILLE SIGHTSEEING.

Our guided tour of Seville includes the massive Cathedral, Giralda Tower, Alcazar and Santa Cruz quarter. Then we see the modern Expo site and a model of the vessel 'Victoria', the first to circumnavigate the world. Then the rest of the day is at leisure. (BB,D)

DAY 6 – SEVILLE – LISBON.

We travel into the greenery of Portugal, and across the Tagus Bridge to arrive at the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.

DAY 7 – LISBON SIGHTSEEING.

A local guide takes us to the Terreiro do Paco, finest square in the city. We then visit inside Jeronimo's Monastery and see the Monument to the Discoveries and Belem Tower. This afternoon maybe join a tour to exotic Sintra? (BB)

DAY 8 – LISBON – SALAMANCA.

This morning we head north to visit the Basilica at Fatima, commemorating the appearance of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Then we cross the border back into Spain and continue to the 'Golden City' of Salamanca.

DAY 9 – SALAMANCA – MADRID.

Our Tour Director shows us Salamanca's Plaza Mayor, cathedral and university buildings. We then visit St Theresa's Avila to see the town walls and fortified cathedral. We return to Madrid where our guided tour shows us the Royal Palace, Plaza de Espana and Cervantes statue. Then past the Cibeles Fountain, and across the Puerta del Sol. Tonight enjoy a Highlight Dinner, with a regional menu.

DAY 10 – RETURN TO USA.

We bid farewell to Spain this morning with a transfer to Madrid Airport. (BB)
